Welcome!

We are currently updating our website. Our new website will feature the latest news and events for the Sustainable Living Center as well as helpful resources and information on a wide variety of sustainable living topics. In the meantime, please subscribe to our enewsletter to keep up to date on our news and events.

The Sustainable Living Center is a nonprofit 501c3 organization originally founded as a two day renewable energy festival in Walla Walla, Washington. As community interest in renewable energy and sustainable living increased, we opened the SLC as a year-round outreach and resource center through a start up grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology. Our mission is to help our region become ecologically and economically self-sufficient through education and partnerships.

In support of our mission, we provide information and workshops on energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, native plants, organic foods, green building, climate change, food co-ops, sustainable agriculture, and recycling. We encourage other like-minded organizations to use the Center as a clearinghouse for their information as well.

We also believe that the greatest opportunity to influence sustainable behavior is with the youth of our community. We travel to local schools throughout the school year and we participate in after-school and summer programs with hands on presentations to engage children in the learning process. If you would like to schedule a presentation for children, please contact our Education Outreach Specialist at eos@sustainablelivingcenter.com
